Hi there! Thank you for stopping by. I’m Adele (she/they), a white queer, nonbinary therapist dedicated to cultivating a supportive space for my clients to be seen and affirmed. Recognizing that distress is often a very human response to the dehumanizing experience of living within systems that perpetuate vast social inequity, I seek to create a warm and collaborative therapeutic relationship, allowing for greater joy and connection outside of the therapy room. I welcome 2SLGBTQIA + communities focusing on reproductive mental health, and experiences of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I also write letters for gender affirming medical care.
Believing that change happens within community, my approach is relational and prioritizes building trust. Together, we may identify your strengths and values as a means to address challenges, name the varied impacts that socialization and institutional structures have upon your wellbeing, and explore relational patterns, identifying what is working and what is not. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which can be helpful in moving through trauma and/or other distressing experiences and emotions that have left you feeling stuck. I have also received training in working with and preventing reproductive trauma, motivated by my own experiences navigating non-affirming medical spaces as a queer parent. My prior clinical experience working with children and families in a school setting taught me to bring curiosity and creativity into sessions, using play, books, and humor as tools of self-discovery. All of this to say-therapy is your time! I will be sure to get feedback from you throughout, making changes as needed and incorporating more of what works for you.
I strive to show up authentically, with humor and compassion, and to engage in practices of solidarity with you both in and out of the therapy room. I hold space for grief, rage, joy, and everything in between. If you think I may be a good fit for you, or would like to learn more, please reach out! I am happy to offer a free, 15 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
